Dr Jonathan O’Riordan -Consultant Neurologist

Dr O’Riordan is a Consultant Neurologist with a busy NHS and private practice. He read medicine at University College Dublin winning a range of scholarships and prizes. He undertook his MD at the Institute of Neurology, London. Thereafter he trained in Guys and St Thomas, St Marys and The National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery, Queen Square before taking up his HNS consultant’s post in 1989.

Dr O’Riordan has published peer-reviewed papers in high-quality neurology and general medical journals. Much of his published research is in the field of inflammatory demyelinating disorders such as multiple sclerosis.

Dr O’Riordan has expertise in the diagnosis and effective management of patients with a broad range of acute and chronic neurological disorders as well as having a specialist interest in Multiple Sclerosis. He is a member of the American Academy of Neurology and the Associaition of British Neurologists and is a Fellow of the Royal Colleges of Physicians of Ireland and Edinburgh.

He sits on the UK National Advisory Committee for acquired brain injury.

Dr O’Riordan has published peer-reviewed papers in high-quality neurology and general medical journals. Much of his published research is in the field of inflammatory demyelinating disorders such as multiple sclerosis.

He provides over 150 Medical Legal opinions to both prosecution and denfence.

Outside of medicine he has interests in golf, rugby and fishing.
