Mr Craig Eriksen
I qualified MBChB at University of Cape Town and started my surgical training at King Edward VIII Hospital in Durban, which is a large, extremely busy, university teaching hospital. I then took up a research post Ninewells Hospital, Dundee, Scotland and gained my doctorate MD. My surgical training continued in Dundee with Professor Sir Alfred Cuschieri, then St Thomas's Hospital, London where I sub-specialised in colorectal surgery. I completed my training back in Ninewells Hospital and was appointed Consultant Surgeon at Perth Royal Infirmary, Perth. Over the past 24 years, I have had extensive experience in all aspects of general surgery, including repair of all hernia, laparoscopic gall bladder surgery, and a full range of colorectal surgery. I very recently retired from full-time NHS practice but am continuing to work in the private sector as well as sessions with NHS work.
